Tube Life

Trust me when I say there's nothing glamorous about riding London Underground trains at 0830am. If it isn't the buffoon sharing their music with everyone else as if they were a sound system at Notting hill carnival, it's the disillusioned who seem to think you should respect their privacy -even if you are all packed in a tin like oily sardines. Another thing that is totally unglamorous about the tube life is the fight for elbow room whilst seated. There's some folk who think they own it so you become embroiled in a battle of wits, as one slight movement of the elbow can result in victory or defeat for the contender of the armrest.

The reason why Londoners are grumpy

I supposed that after the initial rush of the morning commute the tube gradually improves. Rather than be wedged together tightly every other seat is occupied, so there's less chance of rival elbow hostility or giving someone the side eye to kill as they've nudged you after falling into their [supposed] personal space.
