A Conveyor Blog?

I can't believe it's been a whole four months since I last gave you a new episode of Khalivison. Surely it's way to long to go without my dietary musings right? Anywho, I've changed jobs so I'm no longing working for the largest, lucrative, innovative technological company with a bibli-iconographic fruit for its logo. I work for a local charity as a 'part time' communications coordinator. It's been a steep learning curve, making the transition from being a guerrilla operator to being apart of a long standing institution but hey, the career experience is priceless. As the days go by I realise more and more that I've met so many great people on my journey, especially from university. Almost every conversation I have involves a eureka moment in my head as I connect the dots.

On the flip of starting a new job and finding my feet, it seems that I have partially neglected Up In The Ear. I know last time I was unsure what I were doing with it and whether I wanted to rebrand but I've gone into a process of scheduling. It's kinda like reaching the end of your trek through the forest, seeing the shoreline and asking yourself what's next?
I used to do film content in regards to interview but the process was much too time consuming, I did the podcast and mashup thing but wasn't regular with it, did the extensive writing reviews based upon my listening adventures but 90% of submissions don't really inspire me to write.

The question I ask myself constantly is where do I go next?
I planned it all out but it's kinda like retreading old ground. I feel like I've done it already. The organisation I'm in, I meet some diverse artists on a regular basis. Maybe a scheduled Up In The Ear isn't such a bad thing whilst I gain experience from working at my new job to apply to the business plan. The ultimate goal is to work for myself in some shape or form but whilst I'm here, my primary aim is to make a difference because I can see a lot of opportunity.

One more thing I endeavour to do is to post more episodes on here more often as writing helps to clear my head, and also to put me to sleep.

Peace

New Brand?

Perhaps on some distant planet somewhere I need a new brand. I feel like I've flogged the same donkey for years and I need a change. Maybe a change of clothes, I could dress the sight up in some new threads -maybe a logo or maybe I need a new approach. It's the year of the horse and apparently it's the year of riding into prosperity, it could even be the year that the pale horse rides in -over the heads of many, either way (tend to say that phrase far too much, I really need something new whether it be approach or a way of working as at the moment it's kinda a 'meh', optimistic still kinda vibe. So what's the plan of action you ask?

Well it's all in my head, and in my mind mapping app that I should really add something to. It's time to step into making it happen, kinda inprovising around a script I may have already written or even be written elsewhere. Either way[s] (here we go again with the either way), I'll make it a success.

Put In Work

Something I dreamed of for a long time happened yesterday evening. One of those monumental moments where I thought to myself 'it's all real now'. Since my signature touched the paper my brain has been projecting past the moment, to all the other things I gotta make happen. This is by no means the point where I start all the party and bullshit, this is the part where I work extra extra hard because if I relax something tells me I'll get rolled over. My head is spinning with all these ideas, plans, visions and I gotta make them materialise because I've got a taste of achievement, I know what it feels like. Another part of me knows that it's a slight illusion, therefore I won't allow room to overstep myself prematurely. No games can be played, there's clear defined rules and priorities, I won't backdown nor evade responsibility for nobody. I'm cruising into 2014 with a new mindset, better than before...

Let's get it.
